Hello my fellow blogger friends. This is my first real blog ever. I know it has taken me a long time to get up to speed with the rest of the technological world, but that is how I usually am. I was slow to convert from cassette tapes to Cd's, from VHS to DVD, and I still have yet to buy an ipod. I try to tell myself that I don't need one but I sure do want one!!

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 22 year old female and college graduate. I am a Texan from the Houston area and have lived there over half my life. I went to college at Abilene Christian University (in Abilene, TX) and got my almost worthless degree in psychology. When I got done with that I knew that I did not want to study anymore so I started looking for another place I could work. For the summer I moved to the Denver, CO area to work as a summer youth intern for the Lakewood Church of Christ. It was an amazing summer and I loved it so much that I decided to stay.

Now I work on the Colorado School of Mines (not mimes or minds as some think it is called) for Interlink Language Center as an administrative assistant. It is an ESL type school where tons of international students come and study English before they go to CSM. I do office work but also get to know the students too and that is my favorite part.

So I decided to start this blog because I am going to be sitting around a lot for the next few weeks and wanted something new and entertaining to keep me occupied. See, as a result of a skiing accident on Dec. 16, I had ACL surgery yesterday (Tuesday, January 30) and am at home in Houston having my parents take care of me and having some of my best friends cheer me up. I praise God in this situation because unlike we thought, the only part of my knee that was damaged was the ACL. Meniscus and MCL are fine. Thank you God!

As of now I am not in too much pain but that probably has something to do with the fact that my entire left leg, except for the back side, is totally numb which is a totally crazy feeling. It is like when the dentist numbs your mouth, but it is my leg. It feels very fat and swollen which it might be or might not I can't tell. I also am on quite a bit of pain meds and I pray that they do not run out too soon.

Come back tomorrow to see how my knee is doing. Maybe I will have some before and after pictures by then.
